Our themes for the Aegean Retina Meeting XVI are the Advances in Retinal and Vitreoretinal Diseases: Diagnostics, Pharmacotherapy, Surgical Instrumentation and Basic Research. Moreover a Neuro-ophthalmology session dedicated to presentations or cases relevant to retina specialists is planned.
The meeting will include scientific sessions featuring papers, and special lectures. A session dedicated in interesting clinical retina cases is also planned. This session is addressed mainly to young colleagues who would like to make their introductory presentation in a highly specialized, but always-friendly audience The Aegean Retina Meetings’ participants are encouraged to bring their spouses/families along as the meeting also offers opportunity for an extensive array of entertaining activities, and excursions for participants and accompanying persons. |
General information
Language
The official language of the Conference is English Entitlements Participant Fee includes: attendance, conference documentation, bag & delegate badge, coffee breaks at conference sessions, attendance at welcome cocktail and farewell dinner. Accompanying person fee includes: delegate badge, attendance at welcome cocktail and farewell dinner. Registration Desk and Administrative Secretariat Registration will commence on Thursday June 27, at 18:00h and will be also available on Friday June 28, at 8:30 - 9:30. The registration desk will be staffed throughout the official Conference hours. Participants will receive their Conference Pack (badge, final programme, book of abstracts) at the registration desk in the Conference Centre. Confirmation Upon full payment of the appropriate fee, participants will receive confirmation of their registration. |
Abstract Submission
Under the guidance of the Organizing Committee the presentations and discussions will focus on the most recent developments, both clinical and technical, in the fields of medical retina. Eight-minute papers followed by 5 minutes discussion will be presented in focused sessions. Topics Submissions are invited in any of the following topic areas: Advances in Retinal and Vitreoretinal Diseases as well as Neuro-ophthalmology: Diagnostics, Pharmacotherapy, Surgical Instrumentation, and Basic Research. Case reports: A session dedicated in interesting clinical retina cases is planned. This session is addressed mainly to young colleagues who would like to make their introductory presentation in a highly specialized, but always-friendly audience. Abstracts will be accepted for oral presentation on the program themes and will be subject to review by the Organizing Committee. Abstracts should be submitted on-line here. If Internet submission is not possible, please send us your abstract in a Microsoft Word document by e-mail. |

The Aegean Retina Meeting Committee The Aegean Retina is under the close attention of a group of well known scientists from the field of Vitreoretinal Diseases. Dean Eliott, USA Constantin Pournaras, Switzerland Thomas Friberg, USA Demetrios Vavvas, USA Jean-Antoine Pournaras, Switzerland Dimitra Skondra, USA Miltiadis Tsilimbaris, Greece Meeting's Founders Drs. Ioannis Pallikaris and Evangelos Gragoudas founded the Aegean Retina Meeting in 1989 and since then the meeting takes place once every two years on various locations in the Aegean. |

Accommodation
The venue is in Myconian Imperial Resort. Although a small block of rooms has been reserved in Myconian Imperial Resort and in Royal Myconian (very close to venue), participants are encouraged to book their own hotel rooms, giving each the opportunity to customise their Mykonos experience according to their individual preferences. There are many wonderful hotel options in the island within a wide range of budget . Mykonos is one of the most popular destinations in the world in late June and there is extremely high demand, so we strongly encourage you to book your hotel room AS SOON AS POSSIBLE since prices and availability can change drastically with delayed booking. Money: The euro is the official currency, divided into 100 cents. Banks are open Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. ATMs are available in all big cities.
